I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
